Shark Week 2013: 'Sharknado' Influences Summer TV, Snuffy the Seal Promo Commercial [WATCH]

Shark Week 2013 is gearing up, with its start date set for August 4 and the popularity of "Sharknado" which premiered on SyFy this summer, television is all about sharks this year.
Discovery Channel and The Weather Channel have both used "Sharknado" to promote their upcoming marathons "Shark Week" and Hurricane Week. Shark Week will even feature "Sharknado" star Tara Reid on its late night talk show, the network confimed.
The Weather Channel president David Clark talked about viewers' love for everything shark and how it's shaped summer programming in 2013, The Huffington Post reported.
"It shows people the curiosity and the fascination that people have about sharks that that kind of thing can be buzzed about," Clark said.
This year, the commericial video for the annual Discovery Channel stars Snuffy the Seal, which has fans guessing the it will be the main focus of the marathon this year.
Shark Week will feature a full line up of specials, promising to be bigger than ever, according to Newsday, especially with sharks being a big trend this summer with Syfy's "Sharknado" blockbuster.
Discovery Channel has confirmed that Shark Week 2013 will include 11 shark specials, making it "the most premiere hours ever featured in the 26-year-history of the event."
The anticipated Shark Week begins August 4 at 9 p.m. ET on Discovery Channel.
