Another Royal Baby? Zara Phillips Tindall, Prince William’s Cousin, Is Pregnant; Due Date In 2014, Quits Horse Riding Until After Birth
Now that William and Kate’s new prince has been born, the media might soon turn their attention to another royal baby – that of Prince William’s cousin Zara Phillips Tindall.
Phillips, 32, announced her pregnancy with her husband, rugby player Mike Tindall, 34, on Monday, July 8. This will be their first child.
"Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tindall are very pleased to announced that Zara Tindall is expecting a baby in the New Year," a rep for Buckingham Palace told Us Weekly.
"The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, Mr. Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, and members of both families are delighted with the news. This baby will be the first child for Mike and Zara and the third grandchild for The Princess Royal,” the rep continued.
Zara Phillips is Queen Elizabeth’s eldest granddaughter and the daughter of Queen Elizabeth’s second eldest child and only daughter, Princess Royal Anne, and her first husband Captain Phillips. Zara is currently 14th in line for the British throne. Her baby will be Queen Elizabeth’s fourth great-grandchild.
Phillips is also an Olympic equestrian and won a silver medal in the London Olympics. Hello! magazine reports that she has temporarily quit competitive horse racing until after she has given birth.
"The fact is that all of Zara’s horses have now qualified for the events she wishes to enter them for next year," a spokesperson said.
"She has done so well already this season, she does not actually need to compete any more. Given that she is pregnant, she has decided to cancel the rest of her entries for the year."
"As we said previously, she is feeling fine and is following all medical advice from her doctors. She is just being sensible about this,” the rep said.© 2013 Fashion & Style.com All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
