Now, “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch, 37, has "revealed" how Sherlock survived the fall in a pre-taped video interview released at San Diego Comic Con.

After a greeting from “Sherlock” costar Martin Freeman, Cumberbatch appears. After a few words about his other projects “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Hobbit,” “The Simpsons,” and “The Fifth Estate,” Cumberbatch finally realizes what he’s supposed to be talking about – “Sherlock.”

“I can guarantee it’s more fun doing it than it is watching it, and I can guarantee that it’s more fun doing it than it is watching it, and apparently you have quite a lot of fun watching it, so there’s how much fun I have doing it,” he says.
“We’ve started Series 3, we’re in the middle of it. We’ve done the first two episodes and had to take a little break while Martin put his sweaty prosthetic feet back and I had to join him in New Zealand to growl a little bit [for “The Hobbit”].

“It’s been so much fun, the scripts are just a delight,” Cumberbatch continues. The screen begins to get staticky.

“I’m on holiday at the moment, and in a kind of giving vein, and having, for pretty much two years of my life not being able to talk about what I’m doing, who I’m playing, what my character does, how he does it, I just think – f*** it, I’m going to tell you how Sherlock survived.”

“So, here’s the ledge of a building, and here’s Sherlock,” Cumberbatch continues, holding up his arm and a stuffed monkey.

“This is what happened.”

Then, a “Signal Loss” siren blares while Cumberbatch moves his arm and two monkeys around. Bits of dialogue escape, including “a helicopter thing,” “cup of tea, dear,” and incoherent whimpering.

“I know you guys like you spoilers, and I feel so much better telling you. Ah, freedom!” Cumberbatch concludes.
