It has been Patty Jenkins' lifelong dream to direct "Wonder Woman," and she is so amazed how Warner Bros. was able to get Israeli-born actress Gal Gadot to lead the cast since she is the living embodiment of the heroine.

"I could never have imagined that someone so really like Wonder Woman would show up to do this movie," gushed Jenkins, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Because Gadot is such a wonderful person to be around, she simply radiated positivity on the set.

"Person after person would come up to me and say, 'We want to do it for Gal,'" said the director. "I could never have imagined that someone so really like Wonder Woman would show up to do this movie. She is Wonder Woman."

But for Gadot, making the movie was a true sign from the universe. "It felt like we were just a vessel for a greater story that we need to share with everyone. It isn't about me as an actress or Patty as a director. It felt like, now is the time," she said.

Gadot said that the 2017 film is "a story of a girl becoming a woman," so Wonder Woman's fans will see her grow up in the isolated island of Themyscira.

Because she lived a very safe and sheltered life, Diana Prince knew little of the outside world. After military man Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes into Themyscira and asks for her help in saving mankind, Diana is thrown into a world she knows little about.

Earlier, Gadot's leading man Pine also sang praises for the actress. "Gal Gadot has done a beautiful job and I think people will really, really like the film," Pine told the Belfast Telegraph.

A romance will also develop between their two characters, so a reporter teasingly asked Pine if he will "roll around" with Gadot in the film. But Pine laughingly answered "no" since the movie is PG-13.

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017.
