"Homeland" season 2 was pretty intense, with Carrie reasserting who she is and realizing that she isn't crazy. The man that she suspected, Brody, really is a terrorist.  And yet, she manages to bring him over so that he ends up helping the CIA.

After that, to have Brody framed for an act of terrorism came as a complete surprise, and Carrie was forced to help him escape.

In season 3, it looks as though Brody does become the "world's most wanted terrorist," as per unreality primetime.

Executive Producer Alex Gansa also dropped some hints about what was to come when he said, "The issue in this season is, what happens if it were learned that a major attack on the United States was sponsored by a state? These are the big concerns that we're going to deal with in the first sweep of episodes."

Screencrush took this to mean that the attack was going to come from "closer to home."

However, the term "state" can apply to one of the states in the US or it can refer to another country altogether, which seems more likely.

In either case, it seems that another major attack has been planned after the last one just happened in season 2.

There's also the issue of where Brody is and what's going to happen to him. "Does anybody know that Carrie helped him out of the country and will they ever see each other again?" asked Gansa.

"And there are a couple more surprises," he warned.

We can't wait to see what the new threat is and whether it is really closer to home or whether it's coming from a different country.
