English actress Emily Blunt finally got to fulfill her dream of playing an evil queen in "The Huntsman: Winter's War," and it was a role she enjoyed so much that she was surprised how easy it was for her to get into character.

"You'd be surprised by how much I enjoyed [playing an evil queen] and how easy it was to be this person, which is worrying," Blunt jokingly told C Magazine.

However, ice queen Freya did not become a villain by choice. She became one only after the tragic loss of her child at the hands of her jealous sister. Being a mother herself, Blunt understands the pain and despair felt by her character.

"She's not just this rampaging villain. She's actually someone who, as delusional as she is, is thinking she's doing the right thing-and that was exciting to me," she said.

Another thing that made Blunt very excited about the film was the chance to finally work with Charlize Theron, who plays the evil queen Ravenna.

"[It was] a huge dream of mine; to have a massive queen-off with her," she laughingly said.

Blunt has always looked up to Theron. Additionally, after working with her, Blunt found herself respecting the award-winning actress even more.

"Charlize knows what she deserves. She wasn't afraid to ask for it-or to work for it. Everything she gets, she's earned," Blunt earlier told the Wall Street Journal. "Charlize is the most self-possessed person. She doesn't baby you-she treats you like a grown-up. And after the take, she tells you the dirtiest of dirty jokes."

Other stars of the film include Chris Hemsworth as Brighton the Huntsman and Jessica Chastain as Sara the Warrior.

"The Huntsman: Winter's War," which is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, will make its way to cinemas on April 22.
