Jessica Chastain has always stood up for gender equality in Hollywood. This is why she has nothing but praise for the upcoming film "The Huntsman: Winter's War," which she co-stars in together with Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt.

The action scenes and visual effects of the film are great, said Chastain, but what she loves best about it are the "badass" women she got to work with.

"They are all completely different. They are all as powerful as the Huntsman," she told Radio Times of her female co-stars and their characters. "This is a equal opportunities film, finally!"

In the film, Chastain plays the warrior Sara, who is Brighton the Huntsman's love interest.

"I'm a lover not a fighter. But I like that she's tough and speaks her mind. I can relate to that," Chastain said of Sara.

The actress added that Sara's look was "everything," and she was even sent a sketch of the character even before she got her script.

One distinctive thing about Sara is the scar on her cheek, shared Chastain.

"I love scars. I know they are such taboos but I think they are so beautiful," she said. Sara also has "mother of dragon's hair, which makes me happy," Chastain laughingly said as she referenced Emilia Clarke's character Daenerys Targaryen from "Game of Thrones."

As thrilled as Chastain is with her female co-stars, she cannot help but also sing praises for their leading man, Chris Hemsworth.

"Chris Hemsworth is disgusting to look at," Chastain jokingly told E! News. "He is just obnoxious, he won, like, the gene pool lottery, it's just disgusting. And also, he happens to be a really nice guy and funny, which makes him even worse."

"The Huntsman: Winter's War," which is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, will make its way to cinemas on April 22.
