'The Hobbit 2' TRAILER Revealed: 'Desolation of Smaug' Movie New Characters Unveiled [PHOTOS] Legolas Returns, Love Interest for Tauriel? [WATCH CLIP]

The trailer is released for the highly anticipated "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" movie, and we now know there are some new characters involved.
The a little over two-minutes teaser trailer was released on June 11. There we can see Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, and new character human Bard the Bowman, played by Luke Evans.
Yahoo Movies pointed out that that new characters in the movie include Lee Pace's creepy king of the Wood-elves Thranduil, as well as elf warrior Tauriel and Legolas returning, even though he's not mentioned in the "Hobbit" books but a very popular character from "Lord of the Rings." Yahoo speculated that maybe he has a romantic link with Tauriel.
Bard the Bowman warns Thorin about unleashing the dragon, saying, "If you awaken that beast, it will destroy us all!"
And then there's the villain: Smaug the dragon, played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

"The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" releases in theaters on Dec. 13, 2013.
