We know “Skins” Season 7 is coming in July – and now it looks as if we have exact dates! Although official “Skins” channels have yet to release official confirmation, fan pages on Facebook and Tumblr report that the final season of “Skins” will begin to air on July 1.
“Skins Fire,” the episode focusing on fan favorite Effy (Kaya Scodelario) and featuring her friends Naomi (Lily Loveless) and Emily (Kathryn Prescott), will reportedly air its first part on July 1 and its second on July 8.
“Skins Pure,” the episode following Generation 1’s Cassie (Hannah Murray), will reportedly air on July 15 and July 22.
“Skins Rise,” which follows Generation 2’s Cook, will reportedly air on July 29 and August 5.
Digital Spy reports that soon after “Skins Rise” finishes, a complete “Skins” series DVD boxset will be available on August 12, including all seven seasons.
Kaya Scodelario has spoken to Digital Spy about her role as Effy in “Skins Fire,” leaving us with one big question – what happened to Naomily??
The fan favorite couple of Naomi and Emily were last headed off to Goa together, and both characters have been confirmed to appear on “Skins Fire.” We know that Naomi is Effy’s roommate and that they don’t live with Emily, leaving us to speculate that Naomi and Emily likely broke up, seeing as how they lived together when we last saw them in Season 4.
Now, Kaya Scodelario says that the new episode focuses on Effy’s and Naomi’s friendship – with no mention of Emily.
"The main theme is Effy and Naomi's friendship; how it grows, how it changes and the kind of struggles that they go through together,” she revealed.
"The story is about a lot of different things including friendship, love and redemption but ultimately it's them finding themselves in the world.”
And finding Emily too, we hope! Since there’s been no mention of her so far, we can only guess that there must have been a Naomily breakup somewhere between Season 4 and “Skins Fire” – and we anticipate a Naomily reunion.
"They are trying to work out what it means to grow up, how you're supposed to know when you've become an adult and what you should do with your life. It's hard to work all that out when you're 20-something. I certainly haven't,” Scodelario added.
She also talked about how glad she was to come back to “Skins.”
"When I said goodbye to Effy three years ago, I cried my eyes out,” she revealed.
"It was really difficult for all of us to say goodbye as it was our first job. It was hard to go into the world and start auditioning as real actors. Having to pay bills was rather scary too.
"I didn't think Effy was ever going to return and I was really nervous about bringing her back. It took a lot of convincing because she's so precious to me and such an important part of who I am.
"Skins is actually a part of who I am as a person, so I was really focused on making sure the scripts and the storylines were right."
