Disney studio executives can breathe sighs of relief. First, critics have been kind, and more importantly, Fandango announced Thursday that pre-sale tickets for Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" have already broken the record for the most tickets sold in the site's history.
The film opened globally this week The L.A. premiere took place Dec. 14, on Dec.16 the action moved to London and then on Dec.17, New York. The movie also premiered in several European and Asian cities including Tokyo as well as in Sydney.
Many fans (including some famous faces) dressed up for these occasions. Carrie Fisher delighted fans at the London showing by posing on the red carpet with two storm troopers and her dog Gary.
Star Wars fans, Caroline Ritter and Andrew Porters of Australia, attended the opening night of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' at TCL Chinese Theatre on Dec. 17, in Hollywood. The couple were married in a Star Wars themed ceremony in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre earlier in the day. May the force always stay with them.
