(Photo : Disney) Did "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams drop a hint about Kylo Ren's parentage?

For months now there's been a rumor circulating that "Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens" villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) might secretly be a Solo, and now there's yet another hint that this rumor is in fact true.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, director J.J. Abrams said that Kylo Ren isn't the character's real name.

"He is a character who came to the name Kylo Ren when he joined a group called the Knights of Ren," Abrams revealed.

It's definitely possible that Kylo's original name was Solo — whether or not he's Han's (Harrison Ford) son with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), though, remains to be seen. Reported plot leaks suggest that Han and Leia had a falling out following the events of "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," in which case Han might have unknowingly fathered a child (Kylo) with another woman.

Fans have also theorized that Kylo might be Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) son, which would be rather poetic — imagine if both his father and son turned out to be evil. Then again, the rumors that Kylo kills Han have us leaning toward their son-father connection.

While Abrams declined to elaborate on Kylo's background, he did talk a bit about what we can expect from the villain.

"He is not your prototypical mustache-twirling bad guy," said Abrams. "He is a little bit more complex than that, and it was a great joy to work with Adam Driver on this role, because he threw himself into it in a deep and remarkable way."
