Julia Roberts has apparently caused a rift in her family by refusing to attend her sister Nancy Mote's wedding, according to MailOnline.
Nancy is the daughter of Julia Roberts' mother Betty-Lou and Roberts' stepfather, Michael Motes, which makes her Roberts' half-sister.
The two sisters have never gotten along. A fight broke out between them when Motes was caught taking photos of Roberts' twins after birth and Roberts recently making disparaging statements about Motes' weight, as per Radar Online.
It appears that the relationship between the two sisters isn't all bad. Roberts found Motes a job as a production assistant on "Glee."
But as soon as Motes was employed, her husband-to-be, John Dilbeck, promptly quit his job at Panda Express.
As per MailOnline, a source said, "Julia doesn't think much of Nancy's husband-to-be. She's convinced he's sponging off Nancy, who doesn't have much money in the first place."
It seems that Roberts is also worried that if she gives in and attends the wedding, she's going to be stuck with the bill!
In her movie, "Runaway Bride," Julia Roberts played a character who constantly kept leaving men at the altar.
Now it seems that she's boycotting weddings in real life by refusing to attend her sister's wedding.
Is Roberts justified in disliking John Dilbeck, given that he doesn't seem to be employed? After all, every big sister wants to protect her little sister and prevent her from making bad decisions. We hope that the two sisters will be able to work things out somehow.
