U2, Willie Nelson VIDEO Released, ‘I Don’t Know Why a Man/Sees the Truth But Needs a Lie’
We may still be waiting for U2 to come up with a new album but, in the meantime, they've tossed us a bone in the form of the video below made with Willie Nelson in 2003.
The song is called "Slow Dancing" and was released in Nelson's album, "The Essential Willie Nelson" in 2003 as per Music-News.com, but the video hasn't been seen until now.
It's completely shot in black and white, a format that seems to suit U2 particularly well although there are very few other musicians who can get away with it.
Willie Nelson essentially sings the whole song with Bono joining in during the chorus which just goes "Take me slow dancing, slow dancing, slow."
Just tell me when, Bono!
Some of the lyrics have a philosophical bent and are reminiscent of U2's other songs, especially when Nelson sings, "I don't know why a man/Sees the truth but needs a lie."
The credits read, "Happy Birthday, Willie! 80 and still a pilgrim. All the best. Bono, The Edge, Adam and Larry."
The video is 4 minutes 47 seconds long. Willie Nelson turned 80 yesterday, April 30, 2013.
While we're still waiting for U2 to release their upcoming album, "10 Reasons to Exist," feel free to check out their jam session which could be a leak from the album and 7 songs that could make it to the new album.
In terms of why it's taking so long for them to release this album, Bono said, "U2 has been beating the odds of being irrelevant for close to 20 years, since Rattle and Hum, and we had to find ways to keep ourselves fresh, yet loyal to our fans which we love so much," as per our article from April 25.© 2013 Fashion & Style.com All rights reserved.
