The “Big Bang Theory” actress, 27, explained that she wore fake bangs (PHOTO ABOVE) to cover up a welt from where costar Johnny Galecki accidentally punched her in a scene gone wrong.

Kaley Cuoco said that while rehearsing a scene where their characters were supposed to be fighting, she and Galecki decided to get into a fake brawl, where Galecki accidentally punched her.

“They [the crew] thought I went under [the table] and sprayed blood on my face,” Cuoco said. “I had cracked my head open and I had blood squirting down my face. I didn’t even know. I had no idea.”

The punch left Cuoco with a black eye and six stitches, so she wore fake bangs to cover up the wound at the SAG awards – but the problem was, the bangs were obviously fake.

“It was really, really bad, so I decided to have the brilliant idea to get bangs,” Cuoco said. “As you can see, I don’t have bangs, so I had to get fake bangs.”

“A bunch of [stylists] said ‘let’s maybe not do the bangs,’ but I wanted to wear them because it covered my eye and I was really insecure about this huge black eye,” she added.

Cuoco said that she named the bangs Bev and that they ”almost ruined my entire career,” according to the Huffington Post.

“It’s bad, yeah. It was honestly the worst reviewed hair in history,” she said.

She read some reviews of the hairstyle, which was called “helmet-style hair” and “some kind of protective space helmet.”

Luckily, Jimmy Kimmel helped Cuoco “say goodbye forever” to the bangs – she tied the fake hair to helium balloons and let it fly away.
