We've been wondering for some time if the split between Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora is going to be final.

Richie Sambora has been in and out of rehab three times, as per NJ.com and fans are speculating that this may be the reason why Sambora has declined to play with the band on their most recent tour.

However, Bon Jovi spoke to Ellen Degeneres in the show that will air today, 4 pm EST, saying, "All I can say, honest to god, is that it's a personal matter but we love him very much and he's absolutely still a member of the band."

He also spoke about the reasons why the band has stayed together. "We like each other," he said, "I think that that was really the key. We all had to have a lot of give and take, had to love each other. We had to go through some ups and downs but in the big picture, you have to really like each other."

He was a bit embarrassed when Degeneres pulled up an old picture of the band when they all had big 80s hair and clothes with holes in them.

"They haunt me, these pictures," he said, "We had a couple of bucks. Why are we in clothes that have holes in them?"

Catch Bon Jovi, sans Sambora, on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" today, April 23 and watch the band play "Who says you can't go home" and "What about now?"
