While fans of "The Hunger Games" are gearing up for the final movie in the hit franchise, Lionsgate is apparently making additional plans to prolong the series.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is set to premiere in the fall, and so far each film in series has reached a great amount of financial success. With that in mind, Lionsgate might be working on a prequel.

"[We're] actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities," Jon Feltheimer, CEO for Lionsgate, told Deadline. In addition to the rumors of a prequel, Design & Trend believes a crossover with the "Divergent" franchise is also a possibility.

Talk about a blockbuster film — a crossover that could possibly star Jennifer Lawrence and Shailene Woodley? What about having Theo James star opposite Liam Hemsworth! The ticket sales would be insane.

However, it may just be rumors because in a recent interview with MTV News, director Francis Lawrence revealed that "Mockingjay - Part 2" would be the final film. "We're not ending with the promise of another movie, this is the final one. You feel it, and there's something satisfying about that," Lawrence stated, referencing the possibility of a sequel.

Speaking of the final movie, Lawrence also stated that the coming feature will be a stark contrast to first part.

"It's thematically very different [Mockingjay - Part 1"] was about the manipulation of media and propaganda, and this one is a real war movie," Lawrence explained. "Very quickly, we're getting out from the confines of District 13 and back out into the rest of Panem, including the Capitol. It's a very different kind of landscape."

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is set to air in theaters everywhere on November 20, 2015.

Tell us! Do you think that "Mockingjay - Part 2" will be the final film in the series? Would you like to see a "Hunger Games"/"Divergent" crossover film? Let us know in the comments below.
