"The Osbournes," the reality series about Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and his family, will not return to television, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

VH1 has announced it will no longer pick up the show, which originally aired in 2002 and ended in 2005.

"We are no longer talking to the Osbournes about a series," VH1 executive vice president for programming Susan Levison said in a statement. "That's not going to happen. We wish we could have worked it out, but it just didn't come together for us."

She continued, "The family has been absolutely lovely and we wish them the best. We'd love to figure out a way to work with them at some point in the future."

Sharon, Ozzy Osbourne's wife, announced the show's return in Nov. 2014, but said it will not be a "proper series."

"At most, there will only be six to eight episodes and a catch-up on our lives and where we are now," she said during an episode of "The Talk," according to E! News. "It's been so long since we've been seen as a family and our family has grown. We have a graddaughter and a gorgeous daughter-in-law."

When asked if she and the rest of the family decided on reviving the show, Sharon said, "It's all my husband's doing. He looked back on his life and he said, 'I wish we could have done 'The Osbournes' now where I'm clean and sober."

Ozzy and Sharon's children Kelly and Jack were part of the show, but their eldest, Aimee, refused to get on board.

Speaking of her decision to skip the family's show, Aimee told the New York Post, "I didn't want that to be dissected and shared with everyone. Instant fame, attention, getting flown around the world and those other fringe benefits never really rang true for me."
