Matt Lauer's former intern has caused more drama from the troubled "Today" show anchor, letting everyone on Twitter know that he wasn't so nice to him.

One tweet started it all.

Darren Sweeney, an executive producer at FOX 8 Cleveland, tweeted that former "Today" intern Mark Zinni said that Lauer wasn't so nice to him when he interned there many years back.

"I was just a young kid with a bright future ahead of me," @markzinni talking about internship at @todayshow and "not so nice" @MLauer," Sweeney tweeted, which went viral.

Then, Zinni responded to a follower who asked about the comment, and Zinni said tweeted back, "@CONCEDE i was an intern there in '97, his first year on the job... how do i say this....? he was.... not nice."

The situation went so viral that Lauer responded to Zinni's comments on Twitter, saying, "@MarkZinni huh? Always tried to be nice Mark. Sorry you didn't think so. Hope you're doing well. Matt."

In response, Zinni tweeted, "What..A..Day."

Buzzfeed called Zinni "disgruntled" for saying those comments about Lauer, who has been in hot water ever since NBC nixed Ann Curry from the "Today" show (which now Curry fans blame Lauer for her firing).

Zinni, who is now an anchor and reporter on FOX 8 Cleveland, responded to all the hype around his comments by posting a story on fox8.com, his article being named "The Matt Lauer Saga: Mark Zinni's Side."

Zinni explained that Sweeney asked about his experience with Lauer when he interned there in 1997.

"If you know me, you probably know that I don't take myself too seriously. So, my answer was more of a joke about being young and naive during my time at Today, but I added that he wasn't nice to me," Zinni wrote.

He added, "I didn't slam the guy, I just made an honest comment."

To sum it all up he said, "Twitter is a great resource for everyone because it's instant and, thankfully, shorter than a phone call. Bottom line, I was shocked Matt Lauer even bothered with me and, really, he remembers me? I'm flattered."

"I'm not disgruntled (thanks, BuzzFeed!) but I am someone who's happy to be working at the best station in my hometown with wonderful people. By the way, Katie and Ann were great, but now I start my day with FOX 8 News in the Morning."
