Emma Watson's name is all over "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting rumors that she will play the lead role of Anastasia Steele, but new reports claim the exciting news isn't true.
It was recently reported that documents show Watson being linked to the "Fifty Shades" movie coming out in 2014.
According to the Examiner, an alleged document lead was made that said behind the scenes of public media outlets, "Emma Watson is 'linked to star in Focus Features' upcoming '50 Shades of Grey' movie." E Security Planet confirmed that there was a hack in which the actress was connected with an upcoming film, but "Fifty Shades of Grey" as the particular film was not confirmed.
Now, new reports suggest this isn't true of the 22-year-old fan favorite for the role of 22-year-old innocent college grad.
E! Online reported that a source said, "that casting for the flick has not even begun yet."
Yahoo also reported that Entertainment Weekly "spoke to a rep from Focus Features, which is making the film, and they said that casting on the movie hasn't started. Also the production company that Anonymous says they hacked is not involved with the movie."
That's just too bad for Watson fans.
The "Perks of Being a Wallflower" actress may not even want the role even if it was offered.
In an interview with STV.TV in early September 2012, Watson talked about "Fifty Shades of Grey," saying "I haven't read the book, so I don't know what I would be signing myself up for. So I would have to get sent a script I guess," Watson said. "But it always flattering that people are thinking about you for roles. You are in the mix for things so it's great."
"Fifty Shades" fans are chomping off at the bit for casting to start for E.L. James' erotic film adaption, but we will all just have to wait.
