A dog shoots his owner in the leg, which the owner exclaims that he didn't know the gun was loaded. Now the whole world will think dogs are more dangerous than anything else.
According to Highlands Today, a Frostproof man, Gregory Dale Lanier, 35, reported to Sebring police on Feb. 23 that he was traveling in his truck when his dog kicked a gun on the truck's floor, resulting in him being shot in the leg.

"Sebring police ruled the shooting accidental, and apparently the victim was not seriously injured," the report said. "Sebring Police Cmdr. Steve Carr said police did not arrest the dog or detain the animal, pending the investigation. He said he has never heard of a case like this."
Lanier then told investigators that he thought the gun in his pickup truck was not loaded.
He said that he was driving on State Road 17 North "when his dog kicked his unloaded .380 pistol causing it to fire and the bullet struck his leg. Lanier said he heard boom, saw smoke and felt a burning in his leg."
KSAT said that this is not the first bizarre incident that a dog shot his/her owner with a gun:
In December 2011, 78-year-old Billy E. Brown was shot in the thigh by his dog as he drove to a deer hunting spot in Pasco County, according to The Huffington Post.
And this past September, a hunter in France had to have has right hand amputated after his dog shot his gun while apparently attempting to "cuddle" his master, BBC News reported.
The public is appalled by the owner's claims of thinking his gun was unloaded, some calling him irresponsible while others think of the whole ordeal as funny and weird. Here's what some Facebookers are saying:
"Glad the dog wasn't hurt--just sayin."
"A clear cut case of 'Stand Your Hound!'"
"Guns don't kill people, dogs do!"
"Man's best friend! Next time Spot barks for you to slow down you better listen."
"NRA says that dogs have the right to 'bear' arms."
"That why we have laws-like gun must be cased when in vehicle **** duh**** idiots shouldn't have guns either."
"Did anyone talk to the dog? Maybe he shot the idiot in the a** on purpose."
"Hand over the Milk Bones and nobody gets hurt!!!"
"Dogs are dangerous! Congress ought to do something about that!"
