"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting should be coming along as Universal Pictures says that the highly anticipated film is coming out in 2014, but Chace Crawford won't be one of the contenders auditioning.

Adam Fogelson, chairman of Universal Pictures, told The Hollywood Reporter by the way things are going, the film adaption of  E.L. James' erotic book "Fifty Shades of Grey" starring Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey will not come out until next year.

"I certainly understand why some people might take that point of view. But I don't believe that [author EL James] had any interest in going to a studio where rushing it into production was the vision. I don't believe that the second or third film would have benefited from that strategy. And I think that there are totally legitimate questions about what this book is as a movie," Fogelson said. "I will tell you that it is an absolute priority for us. It's conceivable that we could be ready to release it as early as next summer."

Fogelson also denied claims that Angelina Jolie would be the director of the film.

"No. We're involved in a different project [the World War II drama Unbroken] with her," he said. "But we have had really, really interesting, great conversations with talented, serious filmmakers."

Could that be "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" director Bill Condon?

"We've heard the ghost of a whisper of a rumor that Twilight director Bill Condon may be attached to the picture, which has yet to fill in some crucial roles," a report by CelebDirtyLaundry said. It went on to say that Condon's partner Jack Morrissey has been talking to screenwriter Kelly Marcel. And if this happens, Bella actress Kristen Stewart may get a shot at playing 22-year-old innocent college grad Ana Steele, who gets dominated by 27-year-old sexy billionaire Christian in his BDSM-styled Red Room of Pain.

A source says that Chace Crawford will not play Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

There are also many contenders up for the role of the two lead characters, and female fans (who mostly read the books anyway) are screaming who they want to play Christian.

Fan-favorite Chace Crawford recently said he would love to play Christian in the upcoming movie, but insider sources say he is not going to be a contender during casting.

According to PerezHilton, someone close to the film said there is no way the 27-year-old "Gossip Girl" actor is playing Christian.

"Casting wouldn't look at him as a first, second or even third choice," the source said.

That leaves the rest of the list of contenders a better shot at landing the role. The main sexy ones are Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and Henry Cavill.
