Many contenders are up for the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, but the three top actors that seem to be most popular are Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, and Stephen Amell.
"Arrow" star Stephen Amell
This 31-year-old actor has been around Christian Grey talk since last year being the new handsome star on the new CW show.
Amell plays the sexy Oliver Queen, "a billionaire playboy who moonlights as a crime-fighting vigilante looking to clean up the streets of Starling City" and who shoots arrows on the new CW show "Arrow."
The actor recently dished on playing Christian Grey during an interview with WetPaint.
"I got a link for a Christian Grey fan page, and they put a picture of me as Oliver Queen on there. I'm doing kind of an a**hole smirk, and it blew up. The 'likes' and the comments blew up," Amell said.
"I mean if you think about it, it would be four movies, the last part being two parts. I don't even own a house yet. So I don't think that I'd be turning that down any time soon."
According to Look magazine, Amell "definitely" has what it takes to play Christian. "After all, he's got the grey suits, the wicked grin, the amazing bod - he's perfect for it," the report said.
Gather Entertainment said, "Stephen's ab-tastic, arrow-shooting superhero character actually has a lot in common with Christian Grey besides his good looks - he's a filthy rich guy who went through a rough time in his life, and now he has a secret second life because of it."
"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder
Somerhalder has been the center of fan-favorites ever since talk of film adapting E.L James' popular erotic series came up.
The 34-year-old Damon Salvatore actor recently hinted on possibly reading a "Fifty Shades" script.
"On set preparing scene for TVD, Reading movie script and California dreaming on such a winter's day...Thankful for multi-tasking brain," Somerhalder wrote on his Twitter recently.
According to the Examiner, "The Vampire Diaries" star responded to a TMZ reporter about the rumors saying, "You never know." He recently gave a fan a signed copy of "Fifty Shades of Grey" who donated to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. He also has read the book, but denied the rumors a couple weeks ago.
"Oh man, there's nothing official," he shrugged during an interview with Mr.Porter. "It's just talk."
He then was asked if he has been getting into a bit of S&M in the meantime, just in case he gets a call.
"Yeah, there's a website you can go to where you can just outfit your basement as a dungeon," he said. "So, you know, I thought I'd get prepared, just in case."
Celeb Dirty Laundry described Somerhalder: "Let's be real here. Ian's name is the most closely attached with actors vying for the role of Christian Grey and he well knows that his fans are clinging to hope that he'll get the part. He also is well aware of the fact that Fifty Shades fans cling to any and all nuggets of info that drip drop out about the film adaptation. All of that said, this sounds like a tease to us!"
"White Collar" star Matt Bomer
Bomer is also a huge fan-favorite, especially after his mega sexy role as a male dancer in the film "Magic Mike."
He really isn't known for publicly speaking on playing the highly coveted role, but recently he did while in an interview with Metro.
When asked if he had any interest in playing 27-year-old sexy billionaire Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey," Bomer responded, "No comment. That's my line on that. But it's very flattering that I've got fans who would like to see me in things."
The 35-year-old "White Collar" actor seemed to be open to playing a BDSM-based role with his experience in the film "Magic Mike."
"I wasn't offended," Bomer said about being molested by an extra on set. "If you commit to wearing next to nothing and gyrate in a woman's face, you have to accept whatever comes your way."
One commenter said, "Ian is HOT but to me Matt is HOTTER when I read the books and imagine Christian grey Matt is definitely how I picture him, He is sexy, too good-looking and he has that rich look that so Grey...He is also an Amazing actor...I love Vampire diaries and Ian but Matt wins in my book as Christian."
