"The Mortal Instruments" TV series is on the way!

Cassandra Clare recently revealed the upcoming show's title on her Twitter page after the "City of Bones" movie didn't do well in theaters. Are you ready for the big news?

If you were guessing that the series title is "City of Ashes," that is not the right answer.

Drumroll please...check out the tweet below.

Yay! "The Mortal Instruments" will come to life again in "Shadowhunters."

The TMI fandom have been waiting for some more substantial news about the TV series since it was announced last October. And now with the official title making news, the show seems that closer to becoming a fantastic reality.

In creating a small screen take on the books, there are a lot of benefits.

As previously stated in another story, "The Mortal Instruments" premiere network or cable series would have room to explore a lot more than a film including backstory on characters such as Raphael or Maia. Rumors are also floating around that the series will be an hour long, as well as Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne would produce it like they did the first film.

We hope that the show will focus on "City of Ashes" for the first few episodes when it debuts sometime this year. Longtime fans may enjoy seeing the series dive into fanfiction, as well as "The Infernal Devices" or "The Dark Artifices" stories, too.

However, there is no news on whether Lily Collins or Jamie Campbell-Bower will return as the beloved Clary and Jace. Our guess is that the two may not return to the series. Why?

The show's newly revealed title could indicated that the creators are trying to distinguish the series from the haphazard "City of Bones" film.
