Emma Stone is W magazine's latest cover girl. The February issue starlet graces the pages wearing retro-inspired ensembles. Stone may be America's sweetheart, but this gal has also has cool and edgy rebel style. The "Gangster Squad" actress fronts the issue wearing a black bra with a barely-on black leather jacket.
The once red-headed actress sports a shaggy bleach blonde hairdo. Throughout the spread Stone works a fashionably disheveled look. Set in what looks like an abandoned motel room, Stone strikes effortless poses with somber straight face instead of her radiant Hollywood smile. In the pages, Stone is seen wearing a retro black and white checkered dress which features a plunging neckline and broad shoulder pads. In another shot, the actress sits by the foot of a bed wearing a feminine and lacey yellow dress. The 24-year-old star also sexes it up a bit with a super short black strapless minidress.

In the accompanying interview, Stone discusses her new movie role in "Gangster Squad" and her blossoming career.
"Those undergarments were pretty demanding," Stone told W's Lynn Hirschberg about playing Grace Faraday in the movie. "It's time consuming to put on a bustier and a little corset every day. But you're immediately more poised than you would be in more modern-day clothes. And it makes it easy to get into character."
The actress also admits that despite the fact that she has taken on more dramatic roles, she is still that loveable funny gal we all knew and loved from "Easy A."
"Sometimes it's uncomfortable for me not to go for the joke," she tells the magazine. "I've been looking at that in myself lately." She continued, "Often, joking for me is a way of diffusing the awkwardness of a situation, so it's kind of exhilarating to be a part of projects where there's nothing funny or light-hearted."
The actress, who recently joined Oscar host Seth MacFarlane in announcing the Academy Award nominations, explained that she sometimes can't believe her A-list status. "At first when you go to premieres and award shows, you're thinking 'How the hell am I here?'" she laughs. "All these people I've never met are here and it's so cool! And then as time goes on, it's a little bit like, 'Ah...it's more like work.'"
Even though her career may start to feel like work, it's work she enjoys. "There are only a couple of events where I've truly felt, 'That was an awesome night' - and the Oscars was one of them."
