Birthday girl Michelle Obama wanted to spruces things up a bit for her 49th birthday. Our first lady is now rocking a chic new look -- bangs.
In a new photo, in which Obama meets with Inaugural citizen co-chair David Hall ahead of the Martin Luther King Day of Service, the beautiful FLOTUS is seen wearing a gorgeous floral printed burgundy dress and rocking a voluminous and shaggy bang hairstyle.
Of course with a new term comes a new look. Those presidential bangs probably aren't just for her birthday but also for her husband President Barack Obama's Inauguration ceremony this weekend.

RSVP'd guest and performer of the Inaugural ball, Beyonce Knowles, wished Mrs. Obama a happy birthday. In true Beyonce fashion, the musical diva posted a personal letter on her blog:
"Happy Birthday to a beautiful soul.
Happy Birthday to a leader.
Happy Birthday to a force.
Happy Birthday to a ray of light.
Happy Birthday to an inspiration.
happy birthday to our first lady, Michelle Obama.
Respect, Always & Forever
Beyoncé"
For her birthday Mrs. Obama also received a new Twitter account, @FLOTUS, on which she uploaded the photo of her new 'do. Her old Twitter handle @MichelleObama was ran by the Obama 2012 campaign staff and her new one is now managed by her Office. The new Twitter's bio states that any tweet made by the FLOTUS herself would be signed "-mo." She has yet to make her first tweet, but you can wish her a #HappyBirthday on Twitter and she'll most likely write a "thank you" tweet for all of the Twitterverse to share.
