Word has it that Rihanna and Chris Brown are no more (for now), but that doesn't mean Rihanna doesn't still love her notorious ex-boyfriend. For her single cover of her new song "Stay," Rihanna uses a photo of Brown.
Just when you thought the subliminal Chrianna Instagram posts were over and done with, Rihanna gives us just one more. In the single cover artwork, the Bajan beauty is seen kissing Brown's tattooed neck. Rihanna used a screenshot from Brown's confessional video in which he declared his love for both the pop diva and his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
It's not surprising that the "Diamonds" singer would link Brown to her "Stay" single. The lyrics are truly too obvious to deny that they are about the bad boy entertainer. Check out a few of the most-telling lines below:
"All along it was a fever
A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air and said show me something
He said, if you dare come a little closer
Round and around and around and around we go
Ohhh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know
Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you
And it takes me all the way
I want you to stay"
And let's not forget the most obvious: "Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving. Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving." The lyrics seem to detail Rihanna and Brown's taboo post-assault relationship perfectly.
Rihanna first performed the song late last year during her appearance on "Saturday Night Live." The songstress gave her most chilling performance yet, as she emotionally sang about her tumultuous love affair with the heartbreaking crooner.
