Kate Middleton is heavily pregnant, but the Duchess of Cambridge and soon-to-be mother is determined to attend the Royal family's upcoming Christmas dinner, to which her parents were exceptionally invited.
The royal's Christmas gathering at Sandringham Estate has traditionally been exclusive to the royal family only. But Queen Elizabeth showed her generosity toward Middleton by extending the invitation to Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton. The Middleton family will mark the first non-royal attendants at the dinner.
That gives the 30-year-old pregnant Duchess every reason to attend the Christmas event at any stake.
"Kate doesn't want to disappoint the Queen, nor does she want to skip on her duties. She feels she is obliged to appear at the annual Christmas dinner, her first as the Duchess of Cambridge and doesn't want to let anyone down," an unnamed source told Radar Online.
Prince William, on the other hand, is worried about his wife's struggles with morning sickness.
"William has his concerns though that she won't be up to it and told Kate she shouldn't worry if she feels too sick to attend and that no-one will judge her negatively," the source continued.
"Also, with Harry in Afghanistan for the holidays, William believes the meal will be less formal than in previous years and his grandma wouldn't mind if Kate was excused. But Kate isn't having it and is determined to be at the dinner, smiling as always."
Sunday night, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared in London for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony, where she sizzled in an emerald Alexander McQueen dress.
As if to prove that she is genuinely recovering from morning sickness, Middleton was joined by Prince William to host a holiday lunch for the 27 members of their staff at the Bumpkin Restaurant in London's Notting Hill neighborhood on Tuesday.
Then on Thursday, the royal couple attended the annual Royal Christmas lunch at the Buckingham Palace.
