Not too long ago, Chris Brown faced gay rumors. The 23-year-old allegedly had a sexual relationship with underground singer and friend Andre Merritt and openly bisexual upcoming artist Martyn Paris. Brown's 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna is said to be a caused by infidelity. According to reports, Rihanna found a steamy text message from one of Brown's flings - but that mistress may have been a mister. Now, Rihanna's new song "Love Without Tragedy/Mother Mary" seems to detail that terrible night and possibly allude to Brown's gay rumors.
"Red lipstick, rose petals, heartbreak/ I was his Marilyn Monroe/ Brown eyes, tuxedo, fast cars/ A James Dean on the low," Rihanna sang on the pop ballad. The legendary actor, James Dean, was famously known for having secret gay relationships - hence the "on the low" term used.
Just in case you're skeptical about the lyrics being about Brown. Rihanna continues the song with some lines that obviously hint to that infamous Pre-Grammy night:
"I ask you what's the matter
You say, oh it's nothing at all
Heart's racing, outta control
And you knew that I couldn't let it go"
- This can be referring to Rihanna not being able to get past the suspicious text message.
"You used to be this boy I loved
And I used to be this girl of your dreams"
-Back in August, Rihanna famously told Oprah in an interview that Brown was the love of her life.
"Who knew the course of this one drive
Injured us fatally"
"You took the best years of my life
I took the best years of your life"
- Rihanna and Brown started dating when they were very young and when their careers were just taking off.
"Felt like love struck me in the night I pray that love don't strike twice"
- Rihanna has forgiven her former abuser and is taking a risk by starting a new relationship with him. Her "big brother" Jay-Z allegedly gave Brown a stern warning.
To refresh the details on the gay rumors, Brown was very close to singer Andre Meritt back in 2009-2010. The two continue to be friends; however, they are allegedly no longer as close due to Brown's management's intervention. TheSuperficial.com reported that Merritt has come forward and revealed that he did have a sexual relationship with Brown and that he was the reason of Brown and Rihanna's blowup.
Former R&B singer Raz-B also "outed" Brown during a heated Twitter war in which Brown used a slew of homophobic slurs. The "Turn Up the Music" singer is known for displaying homophobic views, though he constantly backpedals on his harsh statements and claims he loves and respects everyone.

The second alleged male lover, Martyn Paris, has leaked supposed Twitter direct messages between him and Brown, as proof of their sexual relationship. By the dialogue between the two, it seems as if the sexual affair was for pleasure and not romance. The messages contain vulgar and explicit language; see all the screen-captures of the alleged conversation here.
Along with the revelations and supposed confirmations, are also leaked photos of what looks like to be Brown engaging in intimate activity with men. Those photos have not been confirmed as real.
Rihanna is a known advocate for forgiveness and acceptance. If these rumors are true, then perhaps Brown's sexual preference does not deter Rihanna's undying love for him. The two have recently recorded a new duet for Rihanna's "Unapologetic" album, entitled "Nobody's Business."
