"The Big Bang Theory" cast shocked and delighted the studio audience by breaking into a flash mob to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" while taping Thursday night's episode.
The Youtube video of "The Big Bang Theory flash mob" has since gone viral, collecting over 5.7 million viewers.
When Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" starts playing in the background, the main actors of the show - Kunal Nayyar (Raj), Simon Helberg (Howard), Mayim Bialik (Amy), Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) and Kaley Cuoco (Penny) - all jump into a choreographed dance, joined by other cast members and crew.
Johnny Galecki (Leonard) and Jim Parsons (Sheldon), however, did not dance.
Even as the performance concluded, Parsons went back into character and told the crowd "Bazinga!", an expression Sheldon uses as a followup to pranks or jokes.
The whole idea of the flash mobbelonged to Cuoco, who began teasing fans about the big reveal on Wednesday.
"Hello to our awesome Big Bang fans! Finally the moment has come... All my dreams have come true... Yes, my dream to have a live, full out, dance routine for the world to see, has finally happened... I present to you... The Big Bang Theory Flash mob!(This literally was the best night of my entire life) Enjoy!!" Kaley Cuoco sent a special surprise message on Big Bang Theory's Facebook page.
"Ps. A special thanks to the cast and bad-ass crew, for going all in, and making it a night to remember!
Pss. My sister Bri choreographed the entire routine! :)" she added.
Thursday's episode marked the highest ratings for "The Big Bang Theory," with 17.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings.
The CBS sitcom is now in its sixth season, and is attracting an average of 19 million viewers every week, reports The Associated Press.
