"Are you [and Chris Brown] together?" host Andy Cohen asked Rihanna. The 24-year-old singer released her highly anticipated "Diamonds" music video Thursday night and then sat down for a candid live interview with Bravo's Andy Cohen presented by Facebook.
From the beginning of the interview, Cohen tried his best to get the details on Rihanna and Brown's ever-confusing love affair. When the host asked Rihanna about the Brown-featured track, "Nobodies Business," fans hoped for the star to completely explain the message behind the lyrics. In the duet, Brown sings, "I wanna make you mine and it's nobody's business." Rihanna explained, "'Nobodies Business' is the way I look at everything in my personal life. Even though it's getting documented, this is mine." She continued, "I'm not putting out there. But I can't escape it. If I had it my way it would really be nobody's business!
Eventually Cohen had to pull out his old Bravo tricks to make Rihanna spill more juice - a fun game. Cohen asked Rihanna to say the first thing that comes to her mind after he says a name. He mentioned the many pop stars and celebrities related to Rihanna, like Beyonce whom Rihanna responded "Gorgeous. A dagger to my self esteem," and Nicki Minaj whom Rihanna humorously responded "Ass." After spewing her thoughts on a long list of celebrities Cohen finally said Chris Brown whom Rihanna responded "He's dope" and a flirty "He's kinda all right!" Cohen quickly slipped in "Are you guys together?" to which Rihanna responded "No."
Her wild fans (or navy) in the audience groaned as they received the unexpected news. Rihanna and Brown have been hinting to a relationship for a long time. Rihanna even hints to her former beau in her new music video, in which she is grabbing onto an unidentified man with tattoos - a clear reference to Brown.
Perhaps it's really nobody's business after all.
Other topics discussed during the sit-down included her album and Madonna. Rihanna hopes to work with the Queen of pop really soon. She also plans to work with BFF Katy Perry in the near future.
Rihanna explained the meaning behind the album title "Unapologetic". "It's very true, raw, and honest," the pop star said of her album. She explained that each song tells a story of her journey. She notes that her favorite song is "Diamonds" because of its inspirational and deep lyrics.
