Beyonce Knowles has been MIA lately but when mama Bey comes back she comes back with a bam...well in this case, bangs.
The 31-year-old superstar made a rare appearance over the weekend when she hit up the Brooklyn Nets home opener at Barclays Center with her hip-hop hubby (and Nets owner) Shawn "Jay-z" Carter. Though the singer is passionately attached to her blonde locks, Beyonce switched up her usual side-swept hairdo and showed off some new bangs. The Texas beauty wore a burgundy and crème Tibi ensemble with Giuseppe heels, an Yves Saint Laurent ring, and her famous Barack Obama hoop earrings by Erika Pena.
Beyonce was all smiles as she watched her husband's team play their first game of the NBA season on Saturday (Nov. 3). The Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 107-100. The crowd chanted "Brooklyn!" as their home team claimed victory. The Brooklyn team was initially set to start the season against the New York Knicks at Barclays last Thursday but because of the vicious Hurricane Sandy, the game was postponed.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter were in good spirits. The dynamic duo blessed the new stadium during Jay-Z's 8-night opening concert. On the final night, the rapper surprised fans by bringing his wife on stage for two powerful performances.
Beyonce seems to have taken a liking to the sports world. The pop star is set to headline the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans, February 2013. The billboards for her anticipated performance stood bright and tall in Times Square.

When she's not sitting courtside or preparing for her Super Bowl debut, Beyonce is busy supporting the reelection campaign of President Barack Obama, whose fate now lies in the voters' hands as they take the ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
"He has a story that I can tell my daughter because it shows that no matter where you start out, you can work hard and you can do whatever you put your mind to," Beyonce said in a "Women for Obama" campaign video. "I'm standing up for the future of my daughter. The future that I want her to see." Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their first child Blue Ivy on Jan. 7.
