Kristen Stewart traded in her Converses for a sexy pair of Christian Louboutin pumps. The 22-year-old starlet stunned the red carpet in a sleek and sophisticated ensemble at her "On the Road" Los Angeles premiere at AFI Fest 2012 on Saturday (November 3). Balenciaga's it-girl wore a revealing black-and-white cutout jumpsuit from the label. Stewart has grown up a lot since that cheating scandal; the new woman rocked a glamorous dark lipstick and sultry smoky eyes.

Stewart stars in the Walter Salles' film adaption of the cult classic novel by Jack Kerouac. The film follows a group of youths who are on a wild journey consisting of drugs, sex, travel, and music. Stewart plays the care-free MaryLou. The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Stewart, who previously read the book when she was 15. The actress said she appreciates having prior knowledge of her character before taking on the role. "We were allowed to know things about her that people do not know," Stewart told THR. "I think as soon as you know the people who inspired those characters, everything makes so much more sense. It's not the easiest thing to live that life. It takes a really particular person to carry that out."
The actress notes that her new role is definitely a pivotal point in her career. Prior to "On the Road," Stewart was famous for her teen drama film series, "Twilight;" she recently wrapped up the saga's final installment "Breaking Dawn Part 2," which hits theaters November 16. "She definitely helped me break down a few walls," Stewart said of her new character MaryLou. "There was no way I could ever possibly imagine that I could play a part like that," she added. "I thought that the characters in "On the Road" were people I wanted to be able to find in my own life. I wanted to find people who really stirred me up and kept me moving and kept me pushing. And she's that type of that person."
The premiere was held at the Gruaman's Chinese Theatre. Stewart attended the red carpet sans beau Robert Pattinson, but her costars Amy Adams and Garret Hedlund kept her company. Pattinson joined his lady later on at the AFI Fest after-party. The couple partied with friends and Stewart's costars poolside around a large fire pit. E! News reports, Stewart and Pattinson were in good spirits and even engaged in a little PDA action. Stewart patted and rubbed her man's chest and even playfully ran her fingers through his hair. Pattinson whispered in his girlfriend's ear and wrapped his arms around her for a brief moment. The pair ended their night a little early just before 1am.
