Taylor Swift tells the new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine she has a long list of warning signs when it comes to romance and wants a bunch of kids.
"I can't deal with someone wanting to take a relationship backward or needing space or cheating on you," she said in an interview for the December issue.
The Cosmo quotes, likely gathered well in advance of last week's news she and Conor Kenney split up, never mention the 18-year-old son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by name.
"It's a conscious thing: it's a common sense thing," she said. "Would I ever do this to them? If the answer is no, then they're not treating me fairly. I just don't ever want to end up in a relationship that isn't fair ever again."
The singer-songwriter has weathered high-profile break ups after dating actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner and musicians John Mayer and Joe Jonas.
"I've learned when to get out," Swift told the glamour glossy. "I've never wasted too much time with the wrong person and that's one thing I'm proud of."
Now promoting her new album, "Red," and gearing up for another world tour, Swift said she's learned from her mistakes.
"I've had a lot of dark and twisty situations happen, enough to realize that when someone exhibits signs of evoking a dark and twisty relationship and dark and twisty feelings, it's not interesting to me," she said.
"I need that unexplainable spark," she told Cosmo. "I just need to see someone and feel oh, no, uh-oh. It's only happened a few times in my life, but I feel like if I was gonna be with someone forever, it would be because I saw them and I thought, Oh, no."
And she said she's not one to play games.
"I think a lot of times when you meet someone you feel like you need to appear like you're not interested in them so that they'll be more interested in you. But what happens when you start showing him that you actually like him?" she asked. "What's he gonna do then? Play the tape forward; how do you keep a guy like that? I don't want to sign up for that."
Beyond music, she said there's only one other thing that might bring her the same level of fulfillment.
"Being a mom full time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them," she said. "That's the only other thing that could be as thrilling for me as doing this."© 2013 Fashion & Style.com All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
