There are rumors and reports of Rihanna's fashion-reality show "Styled to Rock" being on the verge of cancelation. Since the premiere of the show, ratings have dropped incredibly low. It is assumed that fans were disappointed that the pop star appeared in only three episodes of the series.
The UK's Sky Living network first aired the series in August. A spokesperson from the network responded to the rumors without really confirming whether or not there is a cancelation in the future. "It is far too early to make a decision if the show would return for a second series," said a spokesperson for Sky Living. "After every big launch, we undertake extensive research with our customers and will make a decision when we evaluate the results."
"Styled to Rock" is produced by Rihanna but hosted by Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts and British fashion designer Henry Holland. The competition series follows contestants taking on weekly design challenges in hopes of dressing Rihanna for the stage. The show featured many celebrity guest appearances including Rihanna's music BFF Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, and Pixie Lott. According to a source, the "manic" schedules of the pop stars are partly to blame for the show's downfall. "Scheduling all these pop stars with our filming schedule was a nightmare," the source told Metro.
Since the show isn't doing too well overseas, "Styled to Rock" is reportedly on its way to the USA's Style Network. The show format has allegedly been sold to the network and will feature Holland and Roberts, but not Rihanna. "Rihanna's diary was manic, and to be honest, after it struggled for viewers it was always going to be difficult to get her to agree to do another series," a source told the Daily Mail.
