Kim Kardashian was spotted in a green mermaid costume but without the big diamond ring she has been sporting since her 32^nd birthday.

Kim Kardashian made a grand appearance with boyfriend Kayne West Saturday night at Midori Green's Halloween Party in NYC dressed in a green mermaid costume. However, though the costume was an eye-catching piece, what seemed to catch everyone's attention that evening was not the costume but the missing big pink diamond ring that Kardashian has been wearing since her 32^nd birthday.

"I don't have a ring [tonight]," she told E! News with a smile. When we pressed further for details about that massive sparkler, she added, "It's a pinky ring. Just a ring! Not a big deal."

Kim explained why she ditched her trademark dark locks for the night. "It's Halloween, so I thought if I did my regular hair it would just be kind of boring," she said. "And I didn't want to do red hair, like Ariel, because I did red hair with Poison Ivy last year. I just thought it would be fun to do blonde."

As fabulous as she looked, Kim said it only "took about two hours to get ready." She even helped to design her ethereal getup, collaborating with Trashy Lingerie. "It was really fun," she said. "My stylist Monica Rose helped me put it all together."

The first time Kardashian sporting the ring rumors began to spread that she and West were engaged as prior to her birthday Ryan Seacrest had said that Kardashian has demanded for an engagement ring for her birthday. However, Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner was quick to clarify that they were not engaged that the ring was not an engagement ring.

"It is not an engagement ring," said mom Kris Jenner in the above E! News video. "Because I would know about it."

But she told E! she'd be thrilled if the couple did, in fact, get engaged because "Kanye is such a great guy...he's already part of our family. We adore him...I think they make an amazing couple."
