If you don’t plan on dressing up for Halloween this year, you can still get in on the festivities by dressing up your nails. Wild nail designs are already a major trend this year, so you can really take it to the next level for the ghoulish season.
Thanks to Pinterest, Twitter, and Tumblr, we found the coolest Halloween nails around. Check out the different types of nail designs below:
Trick-or-Treat
A classic theme but a unique design. What’s more festive than candy? Try pasting real candy wrappers to your nails for a fun and innovative look.
Gory
Halloween is all about the thrill. So if you are feeling a bit daring this year, go for a horror theme and give your nails a gory design. The photo above is nothing short of gruesome.
Creepy
Nothing is more interesting than the creep factor. Drawings of eyeballs, sharp teeth, and other creepy tidbits will make your nails the scariest of the night.
Girly
Maybe you’re that gal who doesn’t really like the horror and gore. In that case, go for a girly theme. Add splashes of pink to your dark set of nails; put a bow on a skull. After all, Halloween is also for the sexy and girly costumes.
Cobweb
The cobweb design can be as subtle or as extravagant as desired. If you do plan on getting dressed up, this nail design goes perfect with a witch costume.
Movie Inspired
“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Scream,” “Saw,” and plenty other famous spooky flicks have an iconic character that can be used as a motif on your Halloween nails. “Paranormal Activity” is out right now, so maybe a blueish night-cam hue on your nails would be a fun idea. Maybe add a little shadowy figure on the thumb?
Dark and Sultry
So you’re not into the kitschy themes. No problem. Dark and simple nails look much more practical, sophisticated, and sexy. To add some flair to a simple polish, give your nails some length and try the long and pointy stiletto style. A dark red and black manicure would go great with a vampire costume.
Kid-Friendly
If you’re going to be on Trick-or-Treat duty, you should do a nail design that will impress your little trick-or-treaters. Playful and colorful designs of loveable ghosts and pumpkins are sure to be a hit among the younger crowd.
Bloody
Turn your nails into the ultimate slasher movie with blood red splatter paint nails.
Classic Halloween
Go old-school and feature traditional Halloween motifs on your nails.
Character Theme
Frankenstein, Casper the Friendly Ghost, or skulls are great inspiration for your spooky manicure.
Candy Corn
It’s not Halloween until you break out the candy corn. This vibrant and sweet design is so cute and easy, how could you resist?
Mix-N-Match
If you absolutely cannot decide on a Halloween nail design, then just try them all. You have 20 fingers and toes; feature a different theme on each one of them! Halloween is the only time of year you can get away with this.
