First Lady Michelle Obama and Ann Romney are total fashion opposites; however they both have a love for hot pink. The Presidential candidates' leading ladies both sported hot pink (or Schiaparelli pink) ensembles at Tuesday night's Presidential debate.
President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney gave an aggressive performance during the heated debate; Romney's "binders full of women" quote may live on for internet centuries. Despite the Presidential battle royale, the real competition is between the candidate's wives.
FLOTUS donned her usual sharp and chic look however it was safer than her previous style choices. First Lady Obama wore a Michael Kors neon pink sheath dress with a matching cropped jacket. She accessorized her look with a simple pearl necklace instead of her usual statement jewelry and a pair of black pointed toe pumps. Maybe a more traditional style does better represent a first lady.
Romney switched up her style a bit, wearing something Obama would usually wear - a tweed capsleeve sheath dress. The aspiring-FLOTUS initially wore a red and white paisley oversized jacket over the dress (**side note: Mrs. Romney pairs red and pink? What a fashion risk-taker!), but she removed it during the debate. She accessorized her look with a bold turquoise beaded necklace. Although she's been getting a bit edgier with her fashion, the Republican wife still holds true to her retro style - her mod 60's hairstyle was still in full-effect.
So why did both ladies wear pink? It could be an odd coincidence or it could be because of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nevertheless, the debate is still on: Who wore pink better?
