Chris Brown's New Throat Tattoo and Jay-Z's Rihanna Warning (PHOTO)

Chris Brown has been having better days lately. He's finally back with his first love Rihanna, with much approval from fans - despite many others' criticism. He also received the blessing of Rihanna's mentor and "big brother," Jay-Z.

After purposely not clapping along with the crowd during Brown's performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, it was clear what Jay-Z felt about the singer. Now, the hip hop mogul is giving Brown another chance, according to a source. Rihanna and Brown were spotted together at one of Jay-Z's concerts at the Barclays Center weeks ago; The Sun reports that the rapper invited the couple. According to the story, Jay-Z took Brown to the side and warned him that he would "finish him" if he ever hurts Rihanna again.

"Jay-Z told Rihanna that if Chris is truly making her happy then to go for it," the source told the paper. "He invited them as a couple to his concert in New York and backstage he called Chris to one side and told him if he hurts Rihanna, whether emotionally or physically, it's over for him. He'll ensure it will result in the end of his career."

After the 23-year-old pop star brutally battered Rihanna in 2009, leaving her injured, bloody, and bruised, Jay-Z thought he could never forgive Brown. Rihanna was warned by close friends, family, and even outsiders to not go back to her abusive boyfriend. Three years later and the two young pop stars record the raunchy track,"Birthday Cake." According to numerous reports, Jay-Z was livid with Rihanna for befriending her former abuser. Rumor has it that Jay-Z's introduction of Rihanna's label mate, Rita Ora, served as a threat to Rihanna if she didn't stop seeing Brown. Ora made her debut right around the time "Birthday Cake" was released and she and Rihanna have been compared to each other ever since.

Jay-Z's change of heart most likely comes from accepting that Rihanna is an adult and will make her own life decisions. The rapper has watched his protégé grow from a 16-year-old girl from Barbados to a 24-year-old businesswoman and superstar.

The "Diamonds" singer recently told Vogue in a cover story, "I've gotten a lot more fearless, a lot freer, a lot more comfortable with who I am [...]I started to embrace that." She also spoke about her friendship with Brown; Rihanna wishes the world could move on like she and Brown did.

"To the world, I feel like there's no closure," she says. "There's some obsession that's continued even throughout when we weren't friends or couldn't be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn't let go. They haven't seen any progress in our friendship."

Brown's latest tattoo was probably inspired by the strength he will need to deal with public scrutiny and the pressure from Jay-Z and hopeful fans. The singer added some new ink to his throat - a ferocious lion.
