The CIA allegedly arranged a bride in a plot to find and eliminate an al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al Awlaki, one of the most wanted terrorists in the world.

According to a report in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, via ABC News, the CIA paid an Al Qaeda spy $250,000 to find a bride for al Awlaki.

The purported CIA double agent, Morten Storm, a Danish convert to Islam, befriended many Islamic radicals while in Yemen, but later turned against them in 2006, after which he became a spy on behalf of PET, Denmark’s intelligence agency, according to The Atlantic.

In 2009, al-Awlaki allegedly asked Storm to find a European Muslim woman to be his third wife.

A 32-year-old Croatian woman named Aminah, who said she was an admirer of al Awlaki, was selected.

Storm provided the newspaper with some “proposal” videos and e-mail texts between Awlaki and the bride.

"I am 32 years old and am ready for dangerous things," Aminah stated in the texts provided by the paper, according to ABC News.

"I am ready to die for the sake of Allah."

The plot reportedly failed when the bride’s suitcase sporting CIA’s tracking devices was taken by al Awlaki’s aides in Yemen.

The terrorist was killed in a CIA-led drone strike in Yemen in September, 2011.

If the CIA plan had succeeded, "both of them would be killed in an American drone strike," Storm told Jyllands-Posten.

Al-awlaki was described as the “bin Laden of the Internet,” because of his online presence on a blog, a Facebook page and many YouTube videos. The American-born terrorist repeatedly called for jihad against the U.S., and became the first American citizen to be the target of an assassination order from the CIA.
