Miley Cyrus stopped by the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to dish about her new role on "Two and a Half Men," taking off her engagement ring when filming romantic scenes, and her surprise engagement story.

Cyrus had no idea that her then-beau-now-fiance Liam Hemsworth,22, was going to propose to her. The 19-year-old starlet revealed the details of her romantic and surprising proposal. According to the sweet story, it was Cyrus' heartfelt and raw vocals in her rendition of "Lilac Wine" that moved Hemsworth to ask her hand in marriage.

The "Backyard Sessions" video, in which Cyrus performs the classic song, was shot just 20 minutes before Hemsworth popped the question. Watch Cyrus soulfully sing the song that moved her fiancé to propose in the video below:

"About 20 minutes after that performance - it's one of Liam's favorite songs - he asked me to marry him," Cyrus gushed. "I had no idea. I was thinking he is looking at me funny. And then I knew."

The lovebirds recently got matching tattoos. Cyrus' arm tattoo cites Theodore Roosevelt's famous 1910 speech "So that his place shall never be with those cold, timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." Hemsworth followed his lady and got his arm inked with "If he fails, at least fails while daring greatly" - the line just before Cyrus' passage.
On the "Tonight Show" Cyrus also dished about her on-screen romance on "Two and a Half Men." The actress guest stars as the lively character, Missi, who is the love interest of Jake, played by Angus T. Jones, 19. "It was kind of weird, because when I was doing it, there's like the prop guys, and all these people, and they're like, 'Do you have your ring on?'" Cyrus said of her love scenes with Jones. "This feels weird, [to] take off my ring and make out with Angus - this is creepy!" she laughed, noting her shock at how much the actor has grown up since being a child star. "He's coming back from the military in the episode, and you kind of put a man in a suit, he had a shaved head - he kind of looked good!"
