Actress Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 40th Birthday last week and says she's happy and excited about turning 40.
Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 40th birthday September 27. At pal Tracy Anderson's Pregnancy Project event supporting Every Mother Counts in New York City October 5, the Iron Man 3 actress spoke about what the milestone birthday means to her.
"I was really worried about it, leading up to the day, but now I feel really happy and content with my life," Paltrow told reporters. "I'm excited to move into the next phase. It's much more exciting than I thought it would be."
Paltrow doesn't predict much will change now that she's entered a new decade. "I think I try to promote self-growth and reflection for myself every day," she explained.
Despite her lifestyle, Paltrow -- whose BFFs include Cameron Diaz, 40, and Beyonce Knowles, 31 -- said she's just like any other mom. "We have a scrimmage soccer game in our yard every day after school. It's so fun," she said. Though Moses prefers soccer, "Apple has been really loving gymnastics," the star said.
Regardless of the activity, Paltrow is glad her children are being actively challenged on a daily basis. "I feel that mental happiness and physical happiness are so closely related, and especially for kids, because they have so much energy."
Paltrow is adding to her blog-like lifestyle site, GOOP with an introduction of style items she's created in collaboration with two fashion companies, Kain Label and MiH jeans.
The limited-edition items are a Kain Label for GOOP Tee, and MiH Jeans for GOOP Denim, both labels that Paltrow has worn in the past. The t-shirt is available for $90, and according to the website, is a modern take on the staple inspired by tuxedo tailoring. The $200 MiH denim, called The Marrakesh, is described as "the ultimate leg-lengthening jean," and flaunts unwashed pure denim that will change naturally to become your own worn-in, faded favorite."
These items will remain inaccessible to most women since the simple "GOOP Tee" as Paltrow calls it; will be available in only one-size-fit, for all the trim women who can squeeze themselves into clothing for a size 0 to 8. Statistics show that an average woman is of size 12 to 14. So not only is the collection expensive, it's not accessible to the average woman.
"We've collaborated with Kain Label... to create a version exclusive to goop, inspired by tuxedo tailoring, we added grosgrain piping to the shoulders and sides, and shortened the length, modernizing this essential wardrobe staple," Paltrow said.
