As previously reported, Mariah Carey is riding the "Nicki Minaj gun threat" wave. The 42-year-old singer has reported to Barbara Walters that Minajwanted to shoot her after their heated argument early this week.

Walters shared the news on "The View" on Thursday. The co-host says that Carey was very concerned for her safety because "Nicki walked off the set and multiple people heard Nicki say, 'If I had a gun I would shoot the bitch.'" Carey told Walters that because she does not feel "feel comfortable emotionally," she has hired extra security since the incident.
Walters adds that according Carey, Minaj never apologized however she says that she loved her. Minaj also allegedly told Carey that they might be fighting again on "American Idol."

The 29-year-old rapper heard about the news and could not contain her feelings, leading her to explode in a non-stop Twitter rant which her "barbz" joined in on soon after.

"Tried to keep quiet but let's go!!!!"

"I don't call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave."

"Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she's a black rapper. Lmao. I'll then hit up Barbara n milk it"

"All I do is compliment u. That's not enuff? Ur a legend, cheer up. U don't have to run down ur resume or feel intimidated. Shady McGrady..."

"I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u want ur pity party to continue. So I'm bout to po dot tea."

"I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we've had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn"

"Oop sorry brat. Shit is real in the field. Pls accept my apology."

And Minaj retweeted, "RT @NAZ_MINAJ: Trying to be the only female on the pannel, how fucking pathetic"

The heated dispute between Minaj and Carey happened on Tuesday at the auditions in Charlotte, NC. Co-judge, Keith Urban was in the middle of the crossfire and tried to calm the ladies down. He spoke out about the incident to "Extra" on Wednesday saying that he felt like "the UN." However he admitted to liking the little battle, adding, "I love it, I gotta say. I love working with passionate people. I love artists. Everyone just sort of expressing themselves. It's a very alive and very invigorating work environment."

Carey's husband Nick Cannon stood up for his wife. On Wednesday he told "Access Hollywood," "My wife is the strongest and classiest woman that I've ever met. If you watch the video, she just maintains her composure. I don't think she's moved by the theatrics and pageantry of it all. She signed up to do a job to help young people, this is like a sidebar. I hope that's not what this show becomes, about the cat fights."

CORRECTION: The ""Oop sorry brat. Shit is real in the field. Pls accept my apology." tweet was not targeted to Mariah Carey, it was tweeted towards rapper Da Brat. A fake account under Da Brat's alias tweeted harsh remarks to Minaj. The real Da Brat, under a verified account, denies getting involved and has not even tweeted Minaj.
