Lady Gaga proved that she isn't just a pop star when she released her first rap track, "Cake." Now the artist is continuing her musical journey covering all genres with Jazz as her next stop.
Gaga and Tony Bennett are collaborating on a jazz album. The 26-year-old entertainer and the legendary crooner have already sung together in the past; Gaga showed off her vocal range in their duet singing "The Lady is a Tramp."
The New York City natives are set to work on a full length album equipped with Marion Evans and big swing band. The duo will sing songs by a "very underrated, very famous" jazz songwriter who will remain anonymous until the album is finished.
After Gaga performed her flirty rendition of the Rodgers and Hart song on Bennett's 2011 "Duets II" album, the two remained friends. "Of all things, she called me from New Zealand and said, 'I want to do a jazz album with you,'" Bennett told Rolling Stone. "And I said, 'You got it!'"
The 86-year-old legend dubbed Gaga as "the musical Picasso." "Every day she changes, she has so many ideas and carries them out," Bennett said. "[And] a lot of people don't know it, but she's a phenomenal jazz singer."
