Britney Spear looks stunning in a black leather dress as she graces the cover of ELLE magazine's October issue.

Britney Spears graces the October cover of ELLE magazine, rocking a studded leather Versace dress that contrasts with her bouncy blonde curls. Inside the issue, which hit newsstands Sept. 18, the new "X Factor" judge talks about love, the pressures of fame, and her personal style.

Spears spoke to the magazine about how she's learned to overcome the scrutiny of fans and the media. "I guess I've been under the microscope so long that I don't even pay attention to the nonsense anymore," she said. "I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago."

The pop star's edgy rock 'n' roll fashion continues inside the issue, where Brit steps up to the mic in a Jason Wu patent leather jacket, salacious Dolce & Gabbana satin bra, and Swarovski crystal-embellished bloomers.

Although she looks glamorous in the photos, Spears admitted that she's "really just a tomboy at heart." She added, "I love my jeans and my sweats... So it's really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup and hair-ready every time I go out of my house."

In Spears' second ELLE spread, she's relaxing with fiance Jason Trawick, showing off her glittering engagement ring as she poses in a tiered gown by Just Cavalli and fierce suede boots by Kanye West. The pair gossip about their love life in the feature, with Britney telling Trawick, "That's enough information, sweetie," after he started recalling a detailed story about when Spears made the first move.

Spears and Demi Lovato make their X-factor debut on Wednesday as a new season on the show began.  They were joined by music producer L.A. Reid and X Factor executive producer Simon Cowell.  The ratings of the show fell short of expectations last year so Cowell had to re-strategize in terms of judges this year.

"Both bring different things," Cowell said during the Hollywood Summer TV Tour. "I always said the No. 1 person I always wanted on one of these shows was Britney, because I was fascinated with her as a person (and) as a pop star, and there's something intriguing about her. I didn't know her as a person, and I thought it would be interesting to have her on one of these shows so you see another side of her. And she's a really, really good judge.
