Lady Gaga has undoubtedly got some extra fat, but is already working on a diet.

The “Born This Way” singer surprised fans this week when she appeared in her Amsterdam tour with some obvious weight gain.

"I'm dieting right now, because I gained, like, 25 pounds," Lady Gaga admitted her weight gain to radio host Elvis Duran.

"And you know I really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second. I have to be on such a strict diet constantly," Gaga said.

"It's hard because it's a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance."

According to the Mother Monster, her fattened figure came from her father’s Italian food.

“I love eating pasta and pizza,” Lady Gaga said.

“I’m a New York Italian girl. That’s why I have been staying out of New York. My father opened a restaurant. It's so amazing … it’s so freaking delicious, but I’m telling you I gain five pounds every time I go in there. So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I’m, like, I’ve got to go where I can drink green juice.”

Gaga’s father Joe Germanotta’s restaurant “Joanne Trattoria” is located at 70 W. 68th St. in Manhattan, New York City.

Some, however, blamed alcohol for the 26-year-old star’s heavier figure.

"Alcohol sugars can only be stored as fats. Whereas most sugars can be used as fuel and whatever is left over is stored," nutritionist Majid Ali told RadarOnline.

"So all that drinking adds up as fat pretty quickly, no matter what the rest of her diet is like."

Kelly Osbourne has instead speculated that Gaga was gaining weight because of pregnancy.

“I think she is pregnant because she has been covering up this part of her body recently and I have been noticing that a lot,” Osbourne told Alan Carr on his British Channel 4 chat show.

“And her style has changed and you can’t bleach your hair blonde when you are pregnant.”

“She always says she can’t wait to get fat and have babies,” Gaga’s best friend, Lady Starlight, told Heat magazine.

“Her weight fluctuates – she’s like every other woman in the world. She has her body hang-ups. But the cool thing about her is, it doesn’t matter what is going on with her body, she’ll still go on stage in her bra and pants and work it out.”

Is Lady Gaga expecting a baby with boyfriend Taylor Kinney? That would make her large frame something to celebrate for.
