Kanye West may have been making rounds attending New York Fashion Week but he sure won't be showing his own collection at Paris Fashion Week.

WWD is reporting that the fashionable rapper is skipping out this season. West has made it no secret his ambitious desires to rank among luxury fashion houses. He even teamed up with Giuseppe Zanotti to design the wildly expensive shoes -which his girlfriend Kim Kardashian can't seem to stop wearing -that were sold at Paris' boutique Colette.

Fashion critics gave pretty harsh reviews on West's first two collections in Paris. The rapper was apparently sensitive about the negative feedback and suddenly opted to not talk to press at his last show, cancelling all scheduled interviews. "I got treated unfairly by the press last time. Why would I want to do this?" the rapper explained earlier this year at his fall 2012 show.

Officials at Karla Otto, which represents the Kanye West line, confirmed that West won't be showing this season but the PR house declined to explain why and whether or not the line was discontinued. Rumors are now swirling that West may be bowing out the fashion game. Is the cocky rapper actually accepting defeat?

West seems to have set his fashion sights on Kardashian's closet. The rapper has transformed his girlfriend's style, purging everything from her wardrobe and replaced all her "ghetto" items with high-fashion pieces. The budding power couple has been rumored to be developing a shoe line together so perhaps that's what's taking away from West's fashion time.

  
It would be surprising for West to give up his collection, at least so soon. The mega-star is constantly proving his fashion cred by name dropping top-models and designers in his songs.  Also, Kardashian is said to be on an extreme diet plan (or "workout plan" -Kanye fans would get that one) so that she can be able to fit into her boyfriend's sample sizes from his collection.

Many designers take a hiatus from their line, not often after only two collections, however, it is probably what West is doing. It's actually not a bad idea given the fact that he has received such bad reviews. The eager rapper has done much studying on fashion design; he has even taken an internship at Fendi.  Perhaps he needs to reevaluate what exactly he wants his brand to be and not put so much focus on being the next best thing.  Once he figures his brand out, he can relaunch his collection in New York City - which may be a better location for his shows.

Hopefully Kim Kardashian can really be his "motivation."
