Beyonce looked absolutely stunning for President Barack Obama's fundraiser dinner on Tuesday night, but was her outfit appropriate?
The 31-year-old songstress was ravishing in red; however, red also happens to be the Republican color. If she were just a mere guest it would probably go unnoticed, but she was the hostess and is a celebrity openly endorsing the Democratic campaign. Perhaps her baby daughter is the only "Blue" on her mind.
To make matters even more awkward, Beyonce wore Oscar de la Renta just like rival presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wife Ann Romney - Beyonce's dress is from the resort 2013 collection. The women wore the same enamel flower belt and all. Furthermore, First Lady Michelle Obama and de la Renta have a bit of a fashion beef going on. The First Lady has never worn anything from the designer and the designer has previously criticized her fashion choices. Incidentally, Mrs. Obama was not present at the fundraiser; that would've made things even more awkward (fashion-wise of course).
Nevertheless, Beyonce gets a pass for her politica/fashionista faux pas. What really matters is that she is a great supporter for the Obama campaign. She and her husband Jay-Z hosted the fundraiser at his NYC nightclub 40/40. The power couple raised over $4 million with a dinner that cost $40,000 a plate. Wearing red at a Democratic event may be questionable but when you look as fabulous as Beyonce, does it really matter?

Given the risks that “Elementary” has been taking with the Sherlock Holmes mythology, converting not one but two main characters from men into women, it seems surprising that they chose to keep Sherlock British.
