Just as she broke her baby news, Shakira has also been appointed as a new coach for "The Voice." The Columbian singing sensation will be coaching the new season's contestants next spring. Shakira will join fellow singer Usher as replacements for Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, NBC announced Monday.   

Aguilera is taking a break to support her new album and Green is developing new material and a sitcom based on his life for NBC. The original coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain for season four.

"As I have expressed since Day One of the show ... I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love," Aguilera said in a statement. However, she expressed her desire to return to "The Voice" in the future.

Green welcomed the new coaches and says he'll be back on the show for season five.

Shakira will have a lot on her plate in 2013. The five-month pregnant star is due some time in January.  The singer may be sitting in the hot seat on "The Voice" come spring but she's going to have to miss some great events right now. In her message announcing her pregnancy, Shakira also apologized to her fans for having to cancel her appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this upcoming weekend.

"I was really looking forward to the amazing #iHeartRadio Music Festival, but will see you guys soon! Shak," the star tweeted.

Before her announcement, Shakira's baby bump rumors have been swirling for months. The blond beauty and her hot soccer boyfriend Gerard Pique were spotted at a maternity clinic in Miami over the summer.

According to the August issue of Columbian magazine, Gente, Shakira and Pique will be welcoming a baby boy. The couple is rumored to have already named the baby "Ulicito."
