The feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga continues, as the pop veteran slams the mother monster for being an "imitator."

During her concert in Atlantic City on Saturday night (September 15), Madonna dedicated her song "Masterpiece" to Gaga, but not before making a backhanded remark. "I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery," said the proclaimed queen of pop.

However, Madonna gave fans hope that the feud would soon end. She admitted that she actually wants to perform with Gaga in the future. "And one day, very soon, we're gonna be on stage together. Just you wait."

Since Lady Gaga made her rise to fame with her wild antics and controversial performances, she has been compared to the legendary pop star. Initially, Madonna never expressed any bitterness towards the young star. It wasn't until early 2011 when Gaga released her hot track "Born This Way" that the feud started. According to Madonna (and a great number of fans), Gaga's song sounds a lot like Madge's 1989 classic hit "Express Yourself."  Gaga brushed off the similarities by claiming that the song was inspired by legendary singer Whitney Houston - although, in the video Gaga sports a gap tooth which is very reminiscent of Madonna's famous pearly whites. In an interview with ABC News, Madonna commented on the Gaga comparison saying, "She's a very talented artist. I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done. When I heard ['Born This Way'] on the radio... I said, 'That sounds very familiar'... It felt reductive."

Madonna mocked the song's similarity by performing a mash-up of "Express Yourself" and "Born This Way" followed by a snippet of a track called "She's Not Me."

Gaga fired back during a show in Israel in June by telling her audience "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work."

Madonna's #1 archenemy, Elton John, came to the young artist's defense, saying that Madonna has been "so horrible to Gaga." During a televised rant in August, John continued bashing 54-year-old pop queen, calling her a "fairground stripper."
