Kate Middleton is usually most talked about for what she's wearing, but this time she's making headlines for what she's not. The Duchess of Cambridge is mortified and distraught over her naked photos published by Closer, a French magazine. Middleton was sunbathing with her husband Prince William when paparazzi caught the princess removing her top and bottoms.  The royal couple was enjoying their stay at the Chateau d'Autet, a secluded 19th century hunting lodge owned by the Queen's nephew, Lord Linley,

Despite the controversy, Middleton did not display her distress in public. Just as the scandalous photos went viral on Friday, the duchess and the prince were on their South Asia tour. Middleton was spotted chatting and laughing with guests at an afternoon tea party in Kuala Lumpur hosted by Britain's high commissioner to Malaysia. The royal couple appeared to be in good spirits as they mingled with the assembled VIPs, including Malaysian shoe designer Jimmy Choo. The renowned shoe designer gushed over the charming duchess. "She is an absolutely beautiful person both inside and out," Choo told reporters later. "Very much like Prince's William's mother."

The Royals are pressing charges against the French publication.  The St. James Palace released a statement:

"Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner. The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so. Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them. Officials acting on behalf of Their Royal Highnesses are consulting with lawyers to consider what options may be available to The Duke and Duchess."

Though Middleton suffers from this international embarrassment, she's not the only one. Her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, had a naked photo scandal not too long ago.
